Websites

A site that sells what you do, and that you can run yourself.

  • WordPress
  • Astro
  • Sanity
  • Booking
  • E-commerce

A website built for what you actually do, not picked off a shelf. It should look like you, load fast, say the right thing first, and turn a visitor into an enquiry.

And it should be yours to run. Every build ends with you able to change the text, swap the pictures and publish a post, because a site you have to ask someone else to edit stops being updated.

There are two ways I build. WordPress, when you want an admin you already know and a plugin for every eventuality. Astro with a content studio, when the site should be fast, cheap to run and pleasant to edit. Which one is right depends on who keeps it up to date, not on technology.

What I help you with

  • Personal website

A site to tell your own story the way you want it told. I design every page in detail for you.

  • Corporate website

Establish your brand online and keep your clients engaged. I build something easy to update, and I teach you how.

  • Online store

Sell your products online. I set up every detail of the shop, and show you how to manage it yourself.

  • Website redesign

Time to replace an old site. We work out what is doing its job and what is not, and you end up with one your clients like again.

Every project includes

  • A design made for your project, not a template with your logo on it.
  • Everything editable by you, and a session where I show you how.
  • Fast on a phone, and built for Google to index properly.
  • A handover you own: your hosting, your accounts, your files.

How it runs

  1. 01Meeting & briefI start by listening. Face to face if we can, a call if we cannot. You tell me about the project, the vision and the goals, and we write a brief and a budget that get us there.
  2. 02Discovery & researchThe part that decides whether the site stands out: who it is for, what the competition does, what your visitors actually came to do.
  3. 03Ideation & designWhere the work shows. I design the pages against the goals we set, and you watch the idea take a form you can look at.
  4. 04Presentation & refinementI present it, in person or on a call, and you say what needs changing. Refinement is a stage of the process, not a favour.
  5. 05DeliveryIt goes live, you learn to run it, and we find a moment to be pleased about it.

My toolbox

Questions clients ask

How long will it take?

Usually seven to twenty-five days, depending on how complex the project is and how ready the content is when we start.

Will I be able to update it myself?

Yes. All the text and images, and news or a blog if you have one. If you do not know how yet, teaching you is part of the job.

Who provides the images and the text?

You can bring your own. I can also create what you need, and stock or AI-generated images are fine where they fit. The criterion is the same either way: the picture has to be of your thing, or honest about not being. A photograph of your actual workshop beats a beautiful stranger in a beautiful studio.

Do you sell hosting and domains?

No. But I help you find the right hosting for the project, and I can set it up for you.

What do you build with?

Two routes, and they are a real choice rather than one and a fallback. WordPress when you want a familiar admin and a plugin for every eventuality, which is what most of the portfolio runs on. Astro with a content studio like Sanity when the site should be fast, cheap to host and clean to edit, which is how this one is built and where most of my newer work is going. Tell me about the project and I will tell you which I would pick.

Do you look after it afterwards?

Yes. I would rather have long relationships than one-off builds. Fresh content, a design that stays current, and security that is kept up.

Will it look good on a phone?

Yes. A site that only works on a desktop is not finished.

Will Google find it?

I build sites Google can index properly. Getting people to visit is the part we work on together after that.

How much does a website cost?

I quote after a first meeting or a brief. Every project is different and has its own needs, so tell me about yours and I will send you a price.

Always included

I teach you to run it

You leave able to update your own site. No hostage situations.

How a quote happens

  1. 01We talk, on a call or in a meeting, and you tell me about the project.
  2. 02I write it up: what I’d build, in what order, and what each part costs.
  3. 03A fixed price per phase, so you know what the next step costs before it starts.
