In Situ

In Situ brings the practice of life drawing into the gallery. First shown in Sarrià de Ter from 2 February to 2 May 2021, the exhibition presents both the drawings and the process of making them.

It combines three parts:

1. A selection from my archive of life drawings, showing different approaches to the human figure.
2. Large-scale drawings made in the gallery, with a film of the process shown alongside them.
3. A live drawing session at the opening, where new drawings become part of the exhibition as they are made.

The model is a collaborator in this work. Their presence, pose and stillness shape the drawing as much as the artist’s marks. Bringing the session into the gallery makes that exchange visible to the audience.

The quick drawings focus on looking and responding to a shared moment. The exhibition makes room for the finished image and for the experience behind it.
